Bethany Lutheran Church offers a three year Confirmation program to all 6^th, 7^th, and 8^th graders. We believe that Confirmation plays a vital role in the lives of our youth and families. It helps to promote spiritual formation and cultivates peer-to-peer and multi-generational faith connections.

This multiple year program is all-inclusive in its teachings. Your child(ren) will learn about the absolute truth of Scripture, Lutheran Theology and Doctrine, and how to actively live in the faith given to them through the power of the Holy Spirit. We cannot stress enough the importance of participating in all aspects of this program. We feel this Confirmation program is an integral component in the partnership between church and home in the faith formation of your child(ren).

We had our two Student/Parent Informational Meetings (in September) for all families (new and returning) interested in Bethany Lutheran's Confirmation Program. These were highly important meeting that went over the program, dates, format the Wednesday evening class, and participant expectations. If you missed coming to one of these meetings and are interested in enrolling your youth in our Confirmation program, please contact Kayleigh Lopez before enrolling.

All Confirmation classes will take place on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00PM in the Youth Room.

We use online forms for Confirmation Registration. Please use the following links to fill out ALL forms needed to be enrolled in Confirmation prior to the Student/Parent Informational Meeting. This will expedite the process of enrolling your child(ren).

The Confirmation Fee for the class is $40 per student/ per year. This fee covers materials for the class and Confirmation needs throughout the program. Payment is due at the time of enrollment through the online form.

Confirmation Retreat:

Join us April 19-21, 2024 at Cedar Lake Camp in Big Bear, CA

Hi parents! I am Brian Ho, one of the DCE fieldworkers here at Bethany. This Confirmation Retreat is my senior project as I continue to finish my studies in preparation for DCE ministry. It will also be a special one because hopefully it will become a tradition for the Confirmation class in the years to come. Throughout this retreat, students will be able to explore the 3 Biggest questions through God’s Word, grow in community, and most importantly to have the space to connect with Our Creator. This retreat is for ALL confirmation students and will be from April 19- 21, 2024 at Cedar Lake Camp, Big Bear, California.

Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, The days of my life all prepared before I'd even lived one day."

There is a quote by the author Kara Powell that says, “Every teenager is a walking bundle of questions.” As adults we can most certainly agree with this statement. In this season of life, they have so many questions about life, themselves, faith, or even their purpose in life! However, the core of these questions could possibly be narrowed down to what they call the “3 Biggest Questions That Every Teenager Asks”

Who Am I? Where Do I Belong? What’s my Purpose?

It can be a lonely journey for teenagers as they struggle to discover satisfying and life-giving answers. Throughout this retreat, they will be surrounded by leaders and mentors who will practice simply caring for them, listening, and pointing them back to the “simple truths” that Christ offers us.

We are enough because of Jesus. We belong with God’s people. We are created for God’s grandeur story.

Throughout this weekend, students will be able to have many opportunities to spend time in God’s Word, both alone and with the community of believers. We will create a space where they will be able to wrestle with and feel safe enough to ask questions. The youth will spend time with caring adults who will continue to walk alongside them through the practice of listening, spending time together, prayer, and pointing them back to God’s Word. They will be encouraged to spend time building life-changing relationships with their peers and the leaders around them. This will naturally happen through everyday simple activities of eating together, playing games, team building, and conversations. This Confirmation retreat is a great opportunity for students to continue to discover more about their identity, belonging, and purpose through the lens of Our Creator.

The cost is $170/person. A non-refundable $85 deposit is due upon registration. Final payment of $85 is due by March 25th.

A time to be Gathered, Connected and Sent as we dive deeply into God's Word as a community, to learn about the amazing and beautiful gifts of God's goodness through Communion.

If you are in 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade and haven't taken communion education here at Bethany, you are invited to join us for our annual Communion Camp, Household Huddles and Maundy Thursday Wrap-Up. If you have taken communion education, you are always welcome to join again and encouraged to invite your friends or pass this information along to other families interested in Spiritual Formation. More Information on the three components of Bethany's communion education (Communion Camp, Household Huddles, Maundy Thursday Wrap Up) will be found on the enrollment form.
